Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will hoist the national flag at the Independence Day parade at Central Stadium on August 15, Wednesday.Mr. Vijayan will take the salute of Armed Police Battalions, Civil Police Platoons, Mounted Police squadrons, NCC cadets and Scouts and Guides, Marching Police Bands at the parade ground. The Chief Minister will also inspect a ceremonial guard of honour.
The Indian Air Force will stage a low-level flypast and shower flowers on the national flag. Mr. Vijayan will give away the President’s Police Medals declared last year. He will also award medals to recipients of the Chief Minister’s Police, Excise, Forest and Fire and Rescue Department medals.
