Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called upon those who have made the cut in the Civil Services examinations to remain sensitive to the needs of the underprivileged.
Mr. Vijayan congratulated the 35 winners and commended the Academy’s efforts to nurture a generation of civil servants. He reminded everyone not to gloat over their success but to remain humble and try to rectify mistakes, if any. Despite a high literacy rate, Kerala falls behind when it comes to competitive examinations, he said and added that the Education Department was working on new strategies to improve the quality of higher education.
Education Minister C. Raveendranath presided over the function. He asked Civil Services aspirants to inculcate reading as a habit in order to gain deep knowledge in a subject.
